Hermosa Lounge.
Located in PIK 2, a brand new bustling business neighborhood with large commercial structures in Jakarta. Massive gold façade that look like forthress covered with gold brush give the character of Hermosa to be modernized and made synonymous with luxury and exclusivity from the outside of the street. The sequence of spaces begins as the guests walk up through a long and dark corridor with special lighting, which acts as a transition between the interior and the exterior. Once the reception is reached, the unique character of this place slowly reveals itself. The bar is divided into four spatial components: the foyer, the communal bar, the lounge and the chamber – like atmosphere and a high vaulted ceiling.
The project combines a simple and efficient layout, suggested by the limited dimensions of the venue but still give a concept of layered experience. The lounge uses a number of dark colored materials, creating its own character within this venue and dimly lit space to further express the mystery concept of the design. the complex and redundant interplay of textures and custom-made elements concurring to define the sophisticated atmosphere and the strong identity of the place. Dark colored materials are combine with custom-made surfaces used as highlights such as modular open ceiling, gold colours brassed as an accent in every corner and stone texture panels as the backdrop screen.
Characterized by dark atmosphere, repetition, symmetry and rhythm. The Lighting also an important key to give a dynamic effect of the space. It is programmed adaptable and responsive to different times, defining the moods, whims and functions. As Hermosa is also open for restaurant at noon & become a nightclub at dawn time.
Moving to the bar, The bar counter and shelf acted as the anchors of the space where the bottles are the main focus placed behind the bar counter. The shelf is bend to curved standing from floor to follow the ceiling and clad in gold colours brassed, highlighted with lighting built into the shelves. The bar is finished with a black marble top with gold strips cladded in brass as an accent surrounding the bar
